Alien landscape

Just another afternoon ski

On top of a Pingo (hill made of ice that forms in regions with permafrost)

The view out my window last night

Why I haven't been taking too many pictures recently...

Dear Kiya,

The photos are splendid ... except the one of your camera. Did you take it apart just to see if you could put it back together again??? Or did it fall into a shallow crevasse? Or just faint at the sight of the sun?

Love,
Kathryn

Dear Kiya,

Gramita here ... we really enjoyed going to Tanna's concert the other day and were all impressed with the wonderful music that these talented young people are making together. We certainly missed you! We would love to have had you there ... though the seating was a tad squishy.

Thank you, thank you for all the wonderful blogs and pictures. They have warmed this old heart of mine TREE-mendously!

Love ya lots,
Gramita

Hi Kiya, we really enjoy your wonderful pivtures. I was particurly impressed with the shot of your camera, did you drop it in the john, and were just drying it out? I have particular knowledge how that works.

Love you Poppi

the camera: the lens got very very stuck. it turns out there wasn't an easy fix and to repair it would cost as much as buying a new camera. so I bought a new one and did an autopsy on my old one (turns out there was a LOT of sand in the lens).

glad you guys enjoy the pictures.

Ma here on Pa's computer. I am captivated with the Northern Lights pictures. Be my eyes. Paint pictures with your stories of how they look. Do they have a sound? What does it feel like to see such a sight? How must the indigenous people have felt when they saw such a sight and what did they think they were?

Wow! More otherworldly pix of, well I guess it is: an other world. The camera demo shot just needed a frothy brew in the mug as an alternative meaning for the caption...
